Mike Housden

We were introduced to Ali via our Architect in connection with our refurbishment of our son’s apartment on the Thames.

Ali designed and made beautiful “floating” stairs in oak to connect the upper and lower floors in an old warehouse conversion

Given the high quality of this work we re-engaged Ali to make a tailored bedroom suit to maximize the potential of a small upper floor bedroom with sloping ceilings. In addition Ali designed and made a “witch and the wardrobe” cupboard to facilitate greater storage space whilst allowing access to a corridor and a simple but very modern ergonomic desk and shelves for an office.

Following this initial series of engagements we also turned to Ali for the design and production of a dressing room in our main residence. This was a design that was to produce paneling for the room and provide storage space in which the cupboards would be impressive, modern but in keeping with the age of the property of 1876.

Ali delivered on this brief in style. He produced the drawings to provide a visual impression, provided samples of the woods under consideration and finally delivered and assembled the entire room in a couple of days . We have enjoyed it ever since.

On the acquisition of an apartment in Copenhagen Ali has assisted us in producing a very unique design in an Art deco style of a dining table and cloud back chairs. The quality of this was astounding with book matched veneers. The attention to detail in the parts one would not normally see were a further mark of Ali`s expertise and quality.

Ali is currently producing some designer bunk beds for us to fit within a limited space using the full range of his exceptional skills."
